"Keep Going, Keep Growing"
Angela Soule
We are just a few weeks away from our first band competition of the season. Most of our members have attended solo events the last couple of months, including the Toronto Indoors, Ottawa Branch Indoors and the Kiwanis Amateur Piping, Drumming and Band Competition in London. We are proud of our solo competitors (whether they place or not) and we encourage all of our members to attend. It allows for a third party to give constructive criticism, socialize with our pipe band peers and to get out any nerves one may have. As mentioned in earlier posts, we announced that this year BPD is stepping back from the usual PPBSO circuit this summer. We are treating 2018 as a full growing year, both as individuals and as a group. We’ve had some really great progress having workshops with Ellen Mole, Neil Anderson, Dan and Jen Bist and will continue working with them throughout the summer. We were happy to hear that the Trenton Scottish Festival have added a competition to their list of events this year, as for us, it will show us our true progress as a unit to finish off the season. Thank you for taking this journey through 2018 with us - we are enthusiastic for what has already taken place this year and looking forward to the next few months. See you out in the field.
