2015 Highland Classic Golf Tournament

Matt Kiegelmann

On Saturday, June 27th, we held our very first golf fundraising tournament, "The Highland Classic".  The weather was wet for the entire week however it managed to hold off for our entire tournament.  We had good golfers and we had...........first timers!  At the end of the day, we raised some much needed funds and had an awesome time.

Special thanks to our tournament sponsors, Innisbrook Golf Course, and our tournament organizers, Ange and Rob!

Click on the pics below to see how our day went!

Cobourg Highland Games - 1st Place!

Matt Kiegelmann

For the very first time, our band won our first PPBSO trophy.  We started learning our competition medley back in September and we have not looked back since.  Practicing 3 times a week for the last 5 months finally paid off!  Not only did our band win the overall Grade 5 prize, we also won "Best Drums & Best Bass" of the day for our grade.  Congrats to our solo competitors who also put up some amazing results!

Hats off to everyone for a great performance.  Our sites are now set on Kincardine which is this coming weekend!

Georgetown Highland Games - 2nd Place!

Matt Kiegelmann

On Saturday, our Grade 5 competition band played the season opener in Georgetown.  There were 13 bands in our grade and we ended up coming out 2nd overall!  Our drum corps took 1st and "Best Drums" for the day and we also took 1st in ensemble.  The band was one point out of 1st place, hoping to improve on a few small issues for the Cobourg games which are next weekend.

Great job band!
